Husband of Eliza E "Lina" James, the married Oct 12, 1885, in Bowie County Texas. Son of Green Hampton & Caroline [Barkman] Bobo, also of Bowie County TX. He was the oldest of 10 siblings. Javan & Eliza had 2 known children; H H and Ova H Bobo. Ova died in her first year of life. The children are buried at this cemetery with their parents.

His father, Green Bobo, arrived in Bowie County Texas, with his Uncle Elias White, on a wagon train, Feb 17, 1846, from Union County South Carolina. They are some of the very early settlers of the Texarkana area, 2 of his brothers, also made the journey; Samuel, and Lewis Bobo. Samuel lived in Bowie Co and raised and family, Lewis moved to Houston Co TX, the original destination of his uncle Elias White, whose brother Stephen White, arrived in 1836, Lewis raised a family there, but died in the Civil War.

Javan's Siblings were:
Elizabeth Hannah Bobo Marley, Mary Caroline Bobo Jordan, Hiram B Bobo, Theodoria E Bobo, William Bobo, Green P Bobo Jr, and half brother, James Cannon, and half sister, Evaline Cannon.
