Lamont was born in Michigan to Edward Ayres and Salina Kimberly Waldron on Jan. 16, 1865. He moved with his parents to Adams County, Nebraska before the birth of his brother in 1869.

Lamont grew up on the family farm in the house built by his father.

Lamont married Emma Roberta Storey on Sept. 24, 1890 in Adams Coiunty, Nebraska. The couple had 4 children, Blanche M. jul. 17, 1897, Grace E. Sep. 05,1892, Lavern R. Waldron May 24, 1896 and Lloyd R. Waldron June 18, 1903. All four children were born in the house on the family farm.

Lamont died in Jan., 1920 and son Lloyd eventually took over the family farm house and the north 1/2 of the farm.
