James and Jewell Ellis were found at the time of the 1930 Census living in Sedalia City, Pettis county, Missouri. They lived at 1885 East 6th Street. They had been married about a year at the time of the census. James was renting their home for $13 a month. James was a blacksmith helper in the steam railroad shop.
James died of heart attack at the age of 57 years.
