Born December 22, 1898 in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Harrison G. King and Elmira Susan ___ (possibly Almira). Harrison's father was Herman D King.

Arthur's siblings include Edna E, Minerva F, Samuel G, Floy M, Willis M, John W, and George M. King.

The 1900, 1910 & 1920 Federal Census list the family as residing in Upper Turkeyfoot Twp, Somerset County, PA where Arthur is listed as Single and living in his father's household. His Draft Registration Card for WWI lists him as a Laborer and his nearest living relative as his father.

The 1930 U.S. Census find him living in his father, Harrison D. King's, household and listed as a widower. The Census also lists two boys, Glenn Romesburg (age 10) and Kenneth Sanner (age 3) as grandsons of Harrison. The Census transcription indicates they are sons of Arthur W. King.

Buried in the same line with Arthur W and his brother, George M King, are C. Glenn King and Kenneth D, King. ??? Could these be the same boys listed on the 1930 Census ???
