Charles Vann King, 74, Rockwood, died Jan. 6, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center,
Johnstown. He was born April 4, 1931, in Upper Turkeyfoot Township, a son of Ray S. and
Bertha L. (Schmuck) King. He is pre-ceded in death by parents and brothers, Harold and
George Lester King. He is survived by his wife, Mildred E. (Trimpey) King; and children,
Harold King and wife, Carol, Elkton, Md.; Pam Weimer, and husband, Gary, Markleton; Marla
Kreinbrook and husband, Stewart, Somerset; Ruth Temple and husband, Mark, Rockwood; Becky
Brougher and husband, Scott, Markleton; Joy Svonavec and husband, Patrick; Charles King
II and wife, Valerie; and Sandra Stevanus and husband, Mark, all of Rockwood; 18
grand-children, Steven King and wife, Joanna; Joshua King and fiancŽe, Sarah; Lezlee
King; Kara and Eleas Weimer; Michael Shultz and fiancŽe, Catrina; Andrea and Danyelle
Shultz; Kyle and Leanne Temple; Caleb and Noah Brougher; Hannah and Logan Svonavec;

sister-in-law, Elsie King, Rockwood. He was a member and secretary of the Somerset County
Beef Producers. Member of Rockwood Young Farmers, New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire
Co., Carpenters Union of Pittsburgh, life member of American Legion Post 279 Rockwood,
treasurer and past president of Somerset County Township Supervisors. U.S. Army Veteran
of the Korean War. He served as a Pennsylvania Forest Fire war-den, was a farmer,
carpenter and Upper Turkeyfoot Township supervisor. Friends will be received from 2 to 9
p.m. Monday at the Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. A funeral service will be held 10:30
a.m. Tuesday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Denton Lester and the Rev.
James Monticue officiating. Interment Old Bethel Cemetery. The family suggests memorial
contributions to the New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Co.
