MSG Air Force retired Ashley Ewart, 88 of Ozark, passed away Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday Dec. 30 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with a military chaplain officiating. The United States Air Force Honor Guard from Tyndall Air Force Base will perform full military honors at graveside. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home.
Mr. Ewart retired as master sergeant of the United States Air Force. He served our country during World War II in Korea and later served in Vietnam. After his retirement, he owned and operated Ewarts Small Engine Repair in Ariton for many years. He was Baptist by faith.
Mr. Ewart was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. His wife of 67 years, Mrs. Geraldine Lowe Ewart, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003.
Surviving family include two daughters, Carol Gauthier of Conneaut, Ohio, and Kathy Kalina and special friend, Edsel Jackson of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Loel and Barbara Ewart of Ozark; one brother Harold Ewart of Arkansas; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
