GRAFTON --- SWIMMING VICTIM
Grafton, June 22---The friends of the Clarence Mole family formerly of Grafton and Elyria, but now residents of Orlando, Florida, will be sorry to learn of the tragic death of the eldest son Theron Mole's wife who was drowned while swimming in Lake Sue on Thursday evening. She and her husband and a company of friends had gone to the Lake for a picnic supper and a swim. After supper Mrs. Mole and two other ladies, Mrs. Bill Williams and Mrs. Delacy went into the lake while Mr. Mole and the remainder of the party were sitting on the bank. Mrs. Mole's companions paused when they had reached one hundred feet from the shore but she ventured out into deeper water and soon disappeared without giving any warning. Mrs. Mole was known as a good swimmer. Fifteen boats aided in the search and after fourteen hours of dragging the lake the body was found at 11 o'clock Friday morning in a sink hole, about thirty feet deep, approximately five feet from the spot where she was reported to have gone down the current having carried it.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Mole are well and favorably known and had been married six years, Mrs. Mole, aged 28 years, was before her marriage, Miss. Harriet Webb and employed as a bookkeeper for an electrical store.
Funeral services were held in the Carey Hand Chapel at 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. J. Dean Adcock officiating. Interment in Greenwood cemetery.
