Gardner, James T. age 85 of Maryville passed away Friday, October 6, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Williamson Chapel Methodist Church and ALCOA's 25-Year Club.

Preceded in death by: Parents, James 'Tom' & Harriett Gardner; Brothers, Roy Bill & Arthur Gardner; Sisters, Irene Walker & Kate Graham.

Survivors include: Devoted and loving wife of 60 years, Esta Gardner; Son, Tom Gardner of Birmingham, AL; Son and Daughter-in-law, Mike & Kim Gardner of Maryville; Daughter and Son-in-law, Barbara & Jeff Rice of Johnson City, TN; Grandchildren, Chris & Rodney Gardner; Great-Grandson and the joy of his life, Noah Gardner; Brother, Charles Gardner of Knoxville; Sisters, Helen Cooper and Betty Buchanan both of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Beecher Whitehead officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Williamson Chapel Methodist Church. Friends may call at their convenience at the family home. Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
