Born March 17, 1932, in Hampstead, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. "Jinks" and Gladys Bishop Matthews. She was the wife of Scott S. Bair Jr., who died Aug. 1, 2005.
She was a graduate of the former Hannah More Academy. She grew up in Hampstead. She and her husband were founders and owners of Bair Outdoor Advertising Company.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, watching English television series produced by Masterpiece Theatre and collecting teddy bears and other collectibles.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Scott S. III and Lynn Broom Bair, of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law Priscilla Bair Pickett and Steven D. Pickett, of New Windsor; grandchildren and spouses Christianne Hart and husband Greg, Carribeth Ramey and husband Brian, Brennan Todd Bair and wife Ambyer, Cassilyn Icenogle and husband David, and Camerenn Scott Bair, all of Atlanta, Shelly Pickett, of State College, Pa., and Lisa Pickett, of Spring, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Dorothy Hale Matthews and Helen Lee Matthews, both of Hampstead; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Harvey B. and Ruth H. Bair, Henry N. Bair, Emerson F. Bair, Elizabeth Bair Warehime, and Glenn S. Bair, all of Westminster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers Calvin and Richard C. "Dick" Matthews; brother and sister-in-law William J. and Elizabeth S. Matthews; and a sister-in-law, Jane V. Bair.
