A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garth served in numerous callings for many years. After retirement he enjoyed doing temple work while he was still physically able.
Garth retired after more than forty five years of service with Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company.
He was one of the first hunter safety instructors for the State of Utah. He helped found the Springville Mapleton Junior Rifle Club and volunteered as an instructor and coach for over twenty years. He was an officer in the Springville Mapleton Wildlife Federation and volunteered his time there. He was a founding member and executive officer of the Pacific States Rifle Club and enjoyed volunteering his time since the late nineteen fifty's. He was very proud when the shooting range in Hobble Creek canyon was named The Garth Killpack Shooting Range in his honor.
Garth is survived by his children, Teri Lynn of Springville, Steven L. (Terry) Killpack of Salem, Roger G. (Wendy) Killpack of Salem, brothers Lovell A. Killpack, Jr., Kenneth Killpack, Weston Killpack, sisters Elaine Johnson and Myra Prince, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Craig, sister Marilyn and great-grandson Tyler.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Spring Creek 1st Ward Chapel, 860 East 200 North, Springville, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Friday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
