MRS. WONDERS 90 IS LAID TO REST
Survived by 74 Descendants, including three great-great grandchildren
HUSBAND A BOATMAN
The Rev. Franklin E. Hetrick, pastor of the South Fork United Evangelical Church conducted the funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Pringle Wonders, widow of John Wonders, whose death occurred last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David R. Small, on Pringle Hill, Summerhill Township, in her 90th year. The services were held in the Pringle Hill United Evangelical Church and were largely attended. Among the relatives from Johnstown being Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Otto and family from Southmont, J. F. Wonders and family of Horner Street, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Snyder and daughter, Miss Eva J. Snyder of South Street, John A. Shinafelt of Pitcairn, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Snyder, Carey W. Wonders of Bedford Street, Mr. And Mrs. Samuel Thomas of the Seventeenth Ward, and their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Pearce, along with Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wonders of Burner. W. VA, and John Wonders of Elton.

A quartet from the South Fork E. E. Church, composed of Miss Angess DeLong, soprano, Miss Ella Salkeld, contralto, James Dunmyre, bass, sang " Rock of Ages", When the Roll is Called upon Yonder" and "In that City". Burial was made in the Pringle Hill cemetery. The pallbearers were John A Shinafelt, of Pitcairn, and J.H. Wonders, C.B. Wonders, Carey W. Wonders, Harry Otto, and C.A. Thompson, of this city, all grandsons of the deceased.

Elizabeth Pringle was a daughter of George and Catherine Paul Pringle, two of the early settlers of Cambria County, and was born on Pringle Hill October 9, 1823. She was married in this county some 60 years ago to John Wonders, a boatman on the Leech line of the Pennsylvania Canal for many years. After the canal was abandoned, Mr. and Mrs. Wonders removed to New Paris, Bedford County, where they made their home for a period of 34 years. They returned to Cambria County 20 years ago, Mr. Wonders passing away June 1898 [Jan. 1899].

Thirteen children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wonders:

[3.] Margaret J., wife of Samuel Thomas of the seventeenth ward.

[5.] John W. Wonders formerly of this city, now of Greensbrug,
[6.] Jacob F. Wonders of 544 Horner Street,
[7.] Daniel R. Wonders, of Burner, WV, and
[8.] W.H. Wonders of Dover, Del.
Mrs. Wonders was a sister of Hannah, wife of George Dopp, of Pringle Hill; Mary, wife of William Gable; and Susan, wife of Daniel Seibert of Summerhill.
Mrs. Wonders is survived by 36 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren
