In the 1930 census two of her children, Charles and Ed are living with John Olinger and his mother. Howard died in infancy. Joe and Amanda were living in Jeff with their son, Jack at the time the 1930 census was taken. Amanda had TB and she died of pneumonia in the Hurst Snyder Hospital in Hazard in 1936 Jack was raised by his grandparents, Blevin and Milda Begley.
Amanda was buried in the Couch Cemetery in Brownsfork with her parents, sister, and young son on the hillside above her childhood home. Amanda has no readable marker.
