Mathias, his wife Margaretha, and three of their children (Michael, Mathias, & Cathrina) came to South Carolina with the Siebler and Schmidt (Smith) families aboard the Snow Rowand. They arrived in Charles Town in 1752. The Wessinger land that was granted by the King of England was 250 acres on the Saluda River in Newberry County.
