Johnny E. Horn, 78, of Hutchins, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012 peacefully, at his residence. .

Johnny was born in Kerens on April 14, 1933, a son of the late Gertrude Franks and Joe Ransom Horn.

Johnny graduated in the Class of 1951 from Kerens High School. He married Ruby Nell Gaines in Kerens on June 26, 1954 until her passing on November 19, 2008. He was a member of Church Christ in Wilmer for 52 years. Johnny served in the National Guard for 20 years. Johnny loved his family, his church and his country. He will be missed by all the lives he has touched.

Johnny is survived by son, Johnny Ransom "Randy" Horn and wife Kalyn of Royce City, Texas; son, James Lynn and wife Josie Horn of Streetman; daughter, Janell Ann Wickens of Streetman; son, Robert Joe and wife Debbie Horn of Red Oak.

Johnny is also survived by one sister, Hattie Wyatt, of Plainview, Ga., 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 in the Green Funeral Home Chapel at 207 S. Wood St. Ferris, Texas.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 in the Brown Street Church of Christ at 2471 Brown Street in Waxahachie with Lester Reagan officiating and Brother Carl Sherman assisting. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. at the Birdston Cemetery in Streetman with Brother Roy Hignight officiating.
