Marion Lee Etheridge, 83, passed away Jan. 5, 2002.
Born in Edgecombe County, N.C., he was predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph Ransom and Mamie Anderson Etheridge; by his stepmother, Lucy Walker Etheridge White; and by two brothers, H. Meredith and Reginald S. Etheridge.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Esther Woodard Etheridge; two daughters, Ann E. Crampton and Lynn E. Liles, both of Richmond; four grandchildren, Jennifer C. Coleman of Atlanta, Ga., Deborah C. Nelson, Austin P. and Leigh M. Liles, all of Richmond; five great-grandchildren, Charissa L. and Zachary J. Coleman of Atlanta, and Kiersten L., Andrew T. and Caleb T. Nelson of Richmond; two brothers, Hilton M. Etheridge of Purvis, Miss., and Joseph Ransom ''J.R.'' Etheridge of Virginia Beach; sisters, Cynthia E. Perkins of Richmond and Dorothy E. Garcia of Greenville, N.C.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, by the Rev. Frank Drake. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made to Willowwood Presbyterian Church, 1715 Willowwood Drive, Norfolk, VA 23509.
