HERE 94 YEARS
Death on December 24 claimed Mrs. Anna Louise Dubbels, who is thought to be not only the oldest resident of the community but also the person who, through the years, had lived longer in the community than had any other person.

Mrs. Dubbels was 95 years, 11 months and 23 days old at the time of her death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dubbels were held from St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesday, with Rev. J.F. Eshbaugh, pastor, in charge. Burial was in the Guttenberg City cemetery in charge of the Tuecke funeral home with the following as pallbearers: Howard Ash, H.B. Tangeman, Kenneth Saeugling and Fred J. Friedlein.

Anna Louise Dubbels was born January 1, 1855, in Guttenberg, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schutte. With the exception of two years spent in Nebraska, she had lived in Guttenberg her entire lifetime of nearly 96 years, a total residence here of about 94 years.

Mrs. Dubbels had been in good health, but recently suffered a fractured leg in a fall and failed to rally from the complications of the injury.

On September 30, 1871, she was married to John F. Dubbels and is survived by two sons and seven daughters. The two sons are Horace and Emmett of Guttenberg and the daughters are Alma Dubbels of Falls City, Nebraska; Mrs. Ida Borcherding of Guttenberg; Mrs. Rose Jenkins of Dubuque; Mrs. Hazel Beerman of Marion; Mrs. Clara Fleck of Guttenberg; Millie Dubbels of Guttenberg and Meta Dubbels of Guttenberg.
