Cordelia Frances Tanner daughter of Richard Holderfield and Mary Fulcher was born August 28 1874 near Cobden Illinois. She departed this life September 1 1948 at 9:40 at her home in Creal Springs. She was 74 years and 3 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Huey Anderson Tanner on January 1st 1894. To this union 11 children were born. They are Herman Tanner of Carrier Mills; Sherman Tanner, deceased; Lora Camden of Creal Springs; Luda Walker of Royalton; Margaret Calvert of Carterville; Lewis and Joe Tanner both of Creal Springs; Emma Swan of Pontiac MI; Ethel Horn of Creal Springs; Nettie Lowery of Creal Springs and Laura who died as an infant.
She was converted to the Christian Faith at the age of 18 and united with the Indian Camp Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death. She lived a consistent Christian life, and was a faithful wife and good mother. She and Anderson lived all their married life around Creal Springs, Illinlois.
Besides her immediate family, she leaves step-daughter Belle Newbold of New Burnside and Sina Greeney of Marion. 50 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 brother Will Holderfield of Pulaski, 3 sisters, Minnie Woolard of Marshalltown Iowa, Laura Tanner of Lakeland FL, and Ada Sims of Oelwein, Iowa.
Delia is preceeded in death by her husband of fifty years, Anderson.
