OREGON—Delores Leona Olson Head, 77, loving, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and longtime Oregon rresident, died on Thursday May 24, 2007 at Polo Health Care Center. She was born June 28, 1929 in Stillman Valley, the daughter of Harold E. & Leona (Reitz) Olson. Delores married James T. Head on May 8, 1948. She graduated from Rochelle High School. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon , and was active with the parish council and the Catholic Daughters. She was a member of the Oregon Post 8739 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and worked at J.L. Allum Fashion Store, Oregon, for 25 years. Delores was a volunteer for many of her children's school activities and was a past president of the Chana Grade School PTA. She was an eighth grade graduate of the original Chana School and took great pleasure in the restoration & relocation of the school to Oregon. Her hobbies included reading & playing the organ, and she greatly enjoyed time spent with her card club and her many friends.
Delores was predeceased by her husband in 2005; by her parents & her step-mother, Helen Olson Danekes. She is survived by her son; daughters; grandchildren; great grandson; half- brother; step-sister; and step-brother.
Christian funeral mass will be held Tuesday May 29, 2007 at 10:30 AM in St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon with Rev. Richard Kramer, pastor & celebrant. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
