Rhea Belle Downs Goetz died April 23, 2008. Rhea was born in 1919 at the home of her parents, Ray and Harriet Siegfried Downs which was formerly located at the old Zimmerman farm on Shelby-Ontario Road in Ontario. Rhea was a longtime member of the Ontario United Methodist Church.
Rhea is survived by her children: Dan and Laura Schlitz Goetz and their children, Jaime and Adam Goetz and Jaime's daughter, Jailyn Goetz, all of Weatherford, TX; Becky Goetz and Jerry McCord and their sons, Jeff and his wife, Jennifer Alvey McCord and Kenny McCord, Kenny's children, Brooklyn and Kaydence, all of Sterling, IL; Peggy Goetz and Frank Price of Bonneau Beach, SC, Peggy's son, Justin Martin and his wife Shelby Wolf, their daughter, Jade and Shelby's son, Chris, all of Overland Park, KS, Peggy's stepchildren and step grandchildren, Frank and Melinda Price and their children, Wil, Ben and Amelia, Kelly Price and John Williams and their children, Brooke and Megan, David and April Price and their children, Emma, Mary Catherine, Grace and Ella, all of Charleston, SC; John and Leeanne Varney Goetz and their son, Austin, Leeanne's children, Jessica and Ryan Lieuallen, all of Brush Prairie, WA; Connie Goetz and Monte Young and their daughters, Samantha of Bellville, Mallory and her husband, Rick Aguilar, both in the Army stationed in Hawaii. She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Virgil and Ethel Anderson Downs and Raymond and Pam Ford Downs; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita Downs and Marvin Zody and Naomi Downs and Fred Dapper, all of Richland County; four sisters-in-law, Jan Knight Goetz of FL, Loud Goetz and her husband, John Rieth of CA, Rose Bittenbinder Goetz and Barbara Stahl Downs, all of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give many thanks to all the great people at Oak Grove Manor nursing home and Outlook Point for taking great care of their mother. Rhea was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Adam Goetz, whom died on October 9, 1983, her parents, a grandson, Matthew Goetz{FAG# 84720076 } and a brother, Gerald Downs.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Saturday April 26, 2008 from 1-2:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Pastor Mark Bailey. Rhea will be laid to rest beside her husband and parents in Ontario Cemetery.
