Dennis Kent Blacker, age 87, beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 5, 2012.

He was born on May 19, 1924, son of Ray and Bessie Briggs Blackner in Lyman, Wyoming.

He married his sweetheart Bertie Mae Keyes on September 30, 1944. She passed away after 50 years of marriage. He later married Jean Ortega, she also passed away.

Her served his country during WWII and received Honorable Discharge from the United States Army in January 1945.

He is survived by his daughter Mrs. DeWayne (Judy) Jacobsen and a son Dennis Tim (Judy) Blackner. Also surviving are one brother, Ivar Blackner, two sisters, Bonnie (Bish) Snelson and Dorothy Stewart. He has nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

He will be dearly be missed by those who loved and knew him.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Uintah Cemetery.

The family expresses our thanks and appreciation for the tender and loving care that was given to our dad during the last few months of his life by Inspiration Hospice and Kathy, Cara, Kathy, Linda and especially Jessica Roberts who assisted him the last nine years.
