Arthur Dwight Horton is the son of Dwight & Harriett Myrtle (Milligan) Horton. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge No 9 F & AM. He had worked in the mines at Browns Valley on the dredgers at Marigold and at the machine shops in this city, and when taken ill was employed at a mine in El Dorado county.

ARTHUR D. HORTON PASSES AWAY
- Well known Young Man of this County Dies at Early Age -
Word was received in this city yesterday of the death at Plymouth, Amador county, of Arthur D. Horton a former resident at various times of Brown's Valley and this city. Mr. Horton had been ill but a short time and was supposed to be well on the way to recovery when the news of his death came as a great shock to his mother, Mrs. Dwight Horton of Browns Valley, and his sisters, Mrs. George Smith and Miss Elsie Horton of Hammonton. His father was with him when the end came and accompanied the body to this city today.

The funeral will take place tomorrow. Services will be conducted at 9 o'clock in the morning by Corinthian Lodge No. 9 F & AM of which the deceased was a member. The remains will be taken to Evansville cemetery near Bangor, Butte county, there to be interred tomorrow afternoon.

Arthur Dwight Horton was a native of California and at the time of his death was aged 27 years, 5 months, and 10 days. He had followed the occupation of mining for a number of years and was regarded as a thoroughly qualified and reliable man at the business. He had worked in the mines at Browns Valley on the dredgers at Marigold and at the machine shops in this city, and when taken ill was employed at a mine in El Dorado county.

HORTOH - At Plymouth, Amador county, Cal., January 20, 1908. Athur Dwight Horton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Horton, of Brown's Valley, a native of California, aged 27 years, 5 months and 10 days. Funeral services in Masonic hall, Marysville, at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning under the auspices of Corinthian Lodge No. 9, F. & A. M. Interment in Evansville cemetery, near Bangor, Wednesday afternoon.
