ARCADIA ? Mr. Kirby Wayne Barnes passed from this life Tuesday, December 7, 2004, in Alvin.

Born December 22, 1939, in Baytown, Mr. Barnes had been a resident of Arcadia for 40 years. He had been employed at Amoco Oil for 35 years as a dock supervisor, served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie # 3789 in Santa Fe. Mr. Barnes was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed collecting coins, stamps and guns.

Preceded in death by his son, Paul W. Barnes, survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Mike Vitek of Alvin; brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Danielle Barnes of Brownsboro, Texas; sisters and brother-in-law, Terri and Ray Thomas of Houston, Donna Morris of Spring; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, December 10, 2004, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain Don Rapp officiating.

Casketbearers will be Jeff Lesco, Bobby Robinson, Clifford Robinson, Ray Thomas, Jerry Vitek and Mike A. Vitek.

Friends may call from after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Regency Hospice, 1100 Gulf Freeway, League City, TX 77573 or Bay Area SPCA, P.O. Box 638, Kemah, TX 77565.
