Mrs. H. Dorman Buried in Arcola
Death from Long Illness of Cancer

Many people were present at the funeral service for Mrs. Harriet Dorman, held at her late residence on West Main Street Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Three ministers officiated: Rev. A. W. Hinkle, pastor of Arcola Presbyterian Church; Rev. H. G. Heuser, of Wheeling, Virginia, a former pastor; and Rev. John I. Gunn, pastor of Arcola Christian Church. Interment was in Arcola Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorman died at midnight Saturday. Her death was caused from a cancer, for which she suffered two years. However, not even her most intimate friends knew of the affliction until a month ago when she could no longer take care of herself.

She was the daughter of the late Capt. Samuel B. Logan, a pioneer, and was born at Tuscola over 50 years ago, when her father was serving a term as county treasurer of Douglas County. Thirty-five years ago, she married Howard Dorman, whose death occurred about five years later. Surviving are her brothers, Samuel, Albert and Stephen, and sisters, Mrs. E. E. Elliott, of Champaign, and Mrs. Mary Bassett, of Chicago.

Mrs. Dorman was an excellent woman who had a place high in the esteem of the people of the community. During the war she was one of the most faithful of the Red Cross workers. In recognition of her services then, a detail of six members of the American Legion Post of this city officiated as honorary pallbearers at her funeral.
