Funeral services for Mr. Neil Johnson of Crockett will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Mr. Neil Johnson, age 80, of Crockett, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 in the East Texas Medical Center-Crockett. He was born November 17, 1931 in Kennard and had lived most of his lifetime in Crockett. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired owner and operator of Johnson Saw and Lawn Mower Shop in Crockett. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Arkansas.
Survivors include wife, Nadine Cheatham Johnson of Crockett; daughters, Connie Gail Poag and husband, Stephen of California, Cheryl Dodge and husband, Bryan of Crockett; step-son, Steven Fannin and wife, Susan of Georgia; grandchildren, Brandy Poag, Corinna Poag, Jason Poag, Nicole James and Justin Hayes; great-grandchildren, Kenny, Brandon, Brandon, Sierra, Sadie and Buddy; sister, Alma Kasper of Crockett; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by parents, C. C. and Sue Johnson and brother, C. C. "Bubba" Johnson.
