It is my understanding from Carole Mixon that Elisha's real full name is R Elihu Mixon. In the 1850 Ouachita Co., AR census he was enumerated as Elihu Mixon (Miseon on the actual census) and in 1860 Ouachita Co., AR census, he was shown as Elisha Mixon. Carole Mixon has done research in SC where he was born and on the Mixon family and assures me his name is R Elihu. I think maybe his name on the memorial should be R Elihu "Elisha" Mixon.
