He was also a charter member and former president of the North Manchester Lions Club, a member of the N.C.H.A. camping organization for 26 years, and sang in the Chain of Lakes Barbershop Quartet (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.) in Columbia City for 20 years.
He was a World War II veteran of the US Army.
