John Pierce Rudd, 77, of Route 2, Dodson, died at 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, 1969, in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer, World War I veteran, and a member of Tannehill Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Gertrude Rudd of Dodson; three sons, J. P. Rudd, Jr., Jimmy Rudd, and J. D. Rudd, all of Dodson; a daughter, Mrs. Othel Taylor of Dodson; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Anderson of Winnfield, Minnie Cockerham and Clarica Canerday, both of Calvin; 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bethlehem Baptist Church near Winnfield with Rev. T. L. Rhymes and Rev. E. J. Yocum officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
