Carl A. Hartke, 803 Mechanic, died Saturday at Newman Memorial Count hospital, as a result of injuries in an automobile accident last week, at Seventh and East streets. Mr. Hartke was 85 years old. He was a retired farmer, moving to Emporia in July from Lincolnville. His body will be taken to Lincolnville Wednesday morning for services there Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. burial will be in Lincolnville cemetery. The casket will be open at the McVey Jones funeral home, Tuesday.

Mr. Hartke was born in 1859 in Bresin, Germany. He Married Mrs. Hartke in 1887 in Lincolnville and she died there in 1910. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Louise Oliver, of Emporia, and Mrs. Bertha Linn, of Lincolnville, two sons, Theodore Hartke and Arthur Hartke, of Lincolnville. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
