PRAIRIE DU SAC — Lawrence Paar, age 77, of Prairie du Sac died on Thursday, December 7, 1978, at a Prairie du Sac hospital. Born on April 25, 1901, on the Paar farmstead in the Town of Berry near Cross Plains, he married the former Rose Wipperfurth on October 2, 1928. They remained on the family farm until retiring to Prairie du Sac in 1963. Mr. Paar was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Sauk City. Survivors are his wife, Rose of Prairie du Sac; four daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Geraldine) Ballweg, Mrs. Anthony (Lorraine) Wankerl, Mrs. Harry (Marlene) Endres, all of Sauk City, and Mrs. William (Della Mae) Dohmeyer of Waukesha; two sons, Virgil of Cross Plains and Ronald of Waunakee; two brothers, Joe of Cross Plains and George of Oregon; a sister, Mrs. Rose Wipperfurth of Cross Plains; twenty-three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Ann Schoepp, in 1955. Funeral services will be held at the GNEWIKOW-SCHWOEGLER-ZIMMERMANN FUNERAL HOME in Sauk City and at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH on Saturday, December 9, with Father Joseph Cox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, December 8, at the funeral home where the parish rosary will be recited.
