Mary Elizabeth Stivers was the daughter of William Hinton and Emily Kelly. The 1st wife of John Alford, Divorced,mother to John William Alford (Jack Alfred) The 2nd wife of Charles Wesley Stivers. Mother to 2 step chidren; Charles Everett Stivers, and Cora Edith Stivers. The mother to 8 children; Julia Mae, Maud Ellen, Lena Marie, Edward Percy, Joseph Wesley, Richard Fern, Oscar Theodore, Nettie Anna (Stivers). Mary and Charles Wesley made their home in Decatur, Macon Co., Illinois until January 1904. They migrated to Prescott, Arkansas and finished raising their children. They moved to their daughter's home, Maud Ellen Stivers Oaks, in abt 1941. Mary passed away at the home in Bernice, Union Parish, Louisiana.
