She was a daughter of Cornelis Maasen Van Buren and Catalyntje Martense Van Alstyne. She may have been born May 19, 1644 on Papscanee Island which may be within the boundaries of Albany, New York. She and her brother Marten are both my ancestors since their descendants in future generations married each other.
Christina married Major Dirck Wesselsen Ten Broeck. Dirck was a son of Wessel Ten Broeck who came with Peter Minuet in 1624 with a group of 200 settlers. Christina and Dirck had fourteen children eleven of whom survived to adulthood. Dirck owned a large amount of land at Saratoga, New York through the Saratoga Patent and a large amount of land in Columbia County. He also lived in Albany, New York for many years and was an Indian agent there. He bought the house of Anneke Jans (wife of Roeloff Jansen and then the wife of the Rev. Dr. Everhardus Bogardus) from her estate. I am descended from Christina and Dirck through their daughter Catharine Ten Broeck who had two husbands. The first husband (and my ancestor) was Jan (John) Leggett and her second husband was Johann Lissjier. Catharine and Jan (John) Leggett had a daughter Christina Leggett (my ancestor) who is the only grandchild of Major Dirck Wesselsen Ten Broeck mentioned in his will. Dirck wanted to provide a suitable wedding outfit for Christina Leggett if she married. She married Claude De La Mater shortly after her grandfather's death and one of their children was Christina De La Mater (my ancestor) who married Johannes Tobias Van Deusen as his first wife of two.
