from the union of Rose and Joel Catching.
Mr. Watson E. Catching and Miss Rose Reese were the first to be married in about 1877. From that union at least one child was born, Cecil Walter Catching. The marriage failed and they both remarried to new marriage partners. Rose married Watson's brother, Joel Parker Catching in Hillsboro, Washington, Oregon. Joel had been previously married in the same county to Maria Eliza Evans, on 17 Dec 1863, and that marriage did not last either. Twins, a boys and a girl came from the union before it's breakup. They were Elmer and Lillian Catching born in 1890. They were both health and lived long productive lives.
Watson E. Catching's second marriage was a union with Florence Buirt, on 24 Jan 1883, about two years later, death struck again and his second wife died, on 28 Sept 1885. But, not before the birth of their first baby. It was a fine girl, Eva Maude Catching, born on 02 Nov 1883. She grew up to be a fine woman and met and was married to, Frank Wilfred Smith, on 26 Aug 1921, in Hillsboro, Oregon. They both died in the early 1960's, in Coos County, Oregon. The couple greatly enjoyed the time they spent in Coos County, Oregon. The climate is great and the land is beautiful. It is an easy place to retire.
Watson E. Catching fell in love with Montana and spent much of the rest of his life there working, hunting and fishing. He died on 05 April 1930 and his remains joined with the others members of his family interred in the Big Sky Country of Missoula, Missoula, Montana and Missoula Cemetery.
