Helen M. Beckwith, 92, of Des Plaines, formerly of Grayslake, died Oct. 17 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
She was born in Ivanhoe Oct. 11, 1887, and resided in Grayslake for 70 years. She retired to Des Plaines 10 years ago. She was a charter member of the United Protestant Church where she was active in Bible Study groups and Sunday school teaching. She was active in a participating missionary in West Virginia. She had been a school teacher for 22 years.
She is survived by her brother, Elmer, of Des Plaines and several nieces and nephews from this area.
Services were held Oct. 20 at the Strang Funeral Chapel, Grayslake, with the Rev. Draper H. Bishop officiating. Interment was in Ivanhoe Cemetery.
