Linda Rae Good, 63, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. In agreement with Linda's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 7, at Lutheran Church of Hope, located at 925 Jordan Creek Parkway in West Des Moines. Committal services will take place at a later date at Brethren Cemetery, east of Dallas Center.

Linda was born on September 18, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa, to Walter L. and Bernice L. (Appenzeller) Martin. She married the love of her life, Gary A. Good on July 27, 1968 in Dallas Center, and to this union, three children were born. In addition to being a homemaker all of her life, Linda was formerly employed with JCPenney in Cedar Rapids and Weeks and Leo in Urbandale. She was a member of Lutheran Church of Hope, where Linda was influential and participated with the Care Core. She was an avid collector of teddy bears and angels. One of her many passions, was communicating with friends and family on a daily basis, whether it was talking on the phone for hours or through emails on the computer. When she was not lending a helping hand or helping those who needed help, Linda enjoyed spending time scrapbooking. Most of all, she loved and cherished all her moments with her family and friends.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Gary Good of Grimes; three children, Terri (Trevor) Anthony of Adel, Mike (Shannon Burrell) Good also of Grimes and Troy (Julie) Good of West Des Moines; one sister, Joyce Turner of Richardson, TX; five grandchildren, Tatum and Tanner Anthony, Shawn Burrell-Good and Nikki and Katie Good; two nieces, Christy McBride of San Antonio, TX and Nikki Shakespeare of San Diego, CA; and one nephew, Chris Shakespeare of Center Point, IA. Linda was preceded into eternal life by her parents; and two sisters, Nikki Martens and Susan Shakespeare.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, February 6, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to either: Lutheran Church of Hope or J.S.C.C. - 3 Powell.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Steven Heddinger, Dr. Sean Cunningham, Dr. Stephen Taylor, Dr. Roger Harvey, and to all the nurses and staff on 3 Powell at Iowa Methodist Medical Center for all their care, help and support through Linda's illness.
