Vera Margaret Strong was born Sept. 18, 1919, the daughter of Harry J. and Loretta "Lottie" (Sterling) Strong in Davenport. She was united in marriage to Richard Honts on November 11, 1950. Vera most enjoyed touring the country in her car. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Survivors include her son, David Honts, Iowa City; and a nephew , Brian (Terri) Doran and their daughters, Julie and Kathleen, Davemport. Other surivors include a niece, Sue Hanson, Montgomery, IL.; Nephews, Michael (Lynn) Hanson, Newtown, PA., and Bill (Lori) Hanson, Yorkville, IL., as well as several other grand nieces and nephews. Her parents and three sisters preceded her in death
