Leonard Deichman, 20, Died After Long Illness - Had undergone 10 operations during last year.
A long illness with a staphlacocci infection, which in the last 48 hours developed into meningitis, resulted in the death today at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, of Leonard Deichman, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Deichman.
The youth had been ill since last July and during that time had made several trips to the hospital, where he underwent 10 operations.
Born here, July 9, 1919, he was a graduate of Decatur High School and attended Millikin university last year. He played in the band and orchestra at both schools. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. W. I. Swift, Decatur, and Sarah at home, and a grandmother, Mrs. Ida Casper, Chicago.
