Isaac Allen Pomeroy was born in Lyme, New Hampshire in 1789 and is the son of Elisha Pomeroy and Submit Green. He lived in Saratoga, Montgomery, Otsego, and Erie Counties as his family migrated through New York. He married Catherine Robertson (probably in 1824 in Cottrellville, St-Clair, Michigan) and moved to Indiana by 1836 (if not earlier). He appeared on the 1850 census in Richland, Fountain, Indiana and died in October 1852.

Proof of Isaac's burial in Old Attica Cemetery is not available; Fountain County Historical Society's volunteers agree that it is not likely to be found. His wife is buried at Hillside Cemetery, Williamsport, Warren County, Indiana, and her obituary mentions that he died and is buried in Attica.
