Joyce J. (Miller) Rupp, 74 of Gering, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff.
Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at Gering Memorial Chapel with Pastor Doug Rupp officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Family request's casual attire. Cremation was held. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established to the family to be designated at a later date.
Joyce was born Aug. 15, 1937 in Scottsbluff to Henry and Mary (Heinz) Miller. She received her early education at Sunflower School and completed her education in Gering.
She was united in marriage to Ronald Rupp July 11, 1954 in Gering and made their home in Sidney until 1960 moved to Gering and has resided there since. Joyce worked as a Nurse's Aide at West Nebraska General Hospital in the evening, while her children were small. She also worked in the Tare Lab at Great Western Sugar Factory 5 years and completed her employment as a Dental Assistant for Dr. J.T. Matsuyama, DDS until retirement. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading and traveling.She was a member of the Eagles Lodge 2998 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include the love of her life of 57 years, Ron Rupp; daughters, Cindy (Mark) Keller, Elaine (Ken) Schwab and Candace Rupp-Runge; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Wanda Mae Miller, Willa Jean Schutte, and Teresa Joan Reed.
