Joaquin (Joe) Affonso, age 86 of Bradenton, Fla. passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2008, at his daughter's residence in Sylva, N.C. He was born on May 10, 1922 in Trinidad, West Indies to Silvano and Carmelita Rezende. He married Doris Undra on Dec. 3, 1949 in New York. She passed away in 1997.
He lived in Manitou Beach for many years before moving to Bradenton. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the United States Army. He was retired from Tecumseh Products where he worked for 35 years. He enjoyed working in his yard.
Surviving are two daughters, Anita Patrick of Sylva, N.C., Laura Nagypal of Clyde, N.C.; and one son, Joaquin Affonso of Lake LeAnn; one sister, Rita in Trinidad; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Youth Haven Ranch, Rives Junction.
