TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Irene M. Powers, 84, died Monday, April 16, 2007, in Amarillo, Texas.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery with Bob Miller, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
Mrs. Powers was born Dec. 24, 1922, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to Neil and Beulah Baker Nelson. She married Max Davis in 1943, and later married Glen G. Powers in 1947.
Survivors include three sons, Steve Davis of Fallon, Nev., Dr. Phil Powers of Port O'Conner, Texas, and Doug Powers of Tucumcari; a daughter, Pam Schuster of Amarillo; a sister, Jean Dawson of Temecula, Calif.; a brother, Neil "Bud" Nelson Jr. of Janesville, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
