Norma W. Swisher, 87, Greentown, died at 3:38 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Howard Regional Health System. She was born March 4, 1924, in Greentown, to Lawrence M. and Edna (Addison) Heathcoate. On July 24, 1943, she married Forrest L. Swisher and he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1995.
Norma was a homemaker. She had been a member of Meridian Street Christian Church for 68 years. Norma enjoyed cooking, and time spent with her grandchildren and playing cards with her friends at Century Villa.
She is survived by her son, Merrill and Linda Swisher, Greentown; daughter, Sandy Burt, Greentown; six grandchildren, Shawn and Julie Hochstedler, Stacy and Ed Marner, Steven Swisher, Rafella Ellis and Rochelle Swisher, Jeff and Susan Stevens; seven great-grandchildren, triplets Mackenzie, Colby and Clay Marner, Quinlyn and Asha Hochstedler, Connor and Jack Stevens; several nieces and nephews; and her friends at Century Villa
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Warren E. Heathcoate, Farrell Heathcoate; three sisters, Beatrice Leavell, Dorothy Boyd, Ilona Cook; and son-in-law Robert L. Burt.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hasler and Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown. Pastor David Turner will officiate. Burial will follow the services in Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.
