Ethel J. Jacobs, 95, of Williamsport, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, at The Gatehouse.
She was born March 12, 1916, in Moreland Township, a daughter of Elmer and Pearl Herst Opp.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Donald L.
She is survived by her son, Wayne D. Jacobs of Williamsport; daughter, Ida Mae Young of Cogan Station; brother, John Opp of Picture Rocks; a sister, Vida Opp of California; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Gary L. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Montoursville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Ethel married Donald Larue Jacobs 10 Nov 1939 at the parsonage of Methodist Church, Muncy, Pennsylvania.
