Death Claims John Warsham
John W. Warsham, widely known resident of Gadsden, who moved here from his native Cherokee County as a boy, died last night in a local hospital after a short illness. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Dwight Baptist Church, Dr. George W. Riddle, Revs. George Warren and Preston Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery.
The body will lie in state tonight at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
Mr. Warsham, who lived at 810 North 32nd street, was a barber shop operator here for many years. He was a Mason and a member of Dwight Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Charles A. and Hoyt A., both of Gadsden; three daughters, Mrs. Aaron Callan, Mrs. Arland Gibbs and Miss Ruth Warsham, all of Gadsden; four sisters, Mrs. Preston Mixon of Birmingham, Mrs. Mallory Heppenstall of Altoona, and Mrs. Thomas Moody and Mrs. Levett Countryman, of Gadsden; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Roy McCullough, Thomas Morgan, Dewey Morgan, Dewey Bellamy, Milton Smith, Carl Pate, and Audley Golden.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John B. Bass, Dr. R.S. Vance, Dr. Euclid Isbell, members of Dwight Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 550 and Gadsden Barbers Local No. 251.
