Thaylia Ballenger Chappell Abercrombie, wife of James L. "Junior" Abercrombie of Summerville and Pickens, passed from this life January 31, 2012, in North Charleston. She was 75.

Thaylia was born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Robert Taft and Ella Rhe Grant Chappell.

She was retired from Mark IV Industries in Easley.

Thaylia was a member of Porter's Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Cathedral of Praise while in Summerville. She was a member of The Ladies Lunch Bunch and The Red Hat Society.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, J. L. "Junior" Abercrombie; daughter Donna Rhe Abercrombie Lambrecht (Steven) of Charleston; sister, Bobbie Hayes of Pickens and twin brothers, Dwayne "Deeter" Chappell of Easley and Wayne Chappell of Pickens.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM, February 4, 2012, in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Pickens with The Reverend Don Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens with The Reverend Cy Rogers officiating.
