Former Clarksville Resident Killed
Word has been received of the instant death by accidental electrocution of Clifford Williams, a former resident of West Clarksville and of Portville.
According to Mrs. Albert Pupo of Portville, his sister in law, the accident occurred while Mr. Williams was at work on the Salt River Project near Phoenix, Arizona May 20.
Mr. Williams was born on Sept 21, 1914 at West Clarksville, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Williams. He married the former Evelyn Hatch. 13 years ago they moved to Arizona seeking relief for Mrs. Williams arthritis condition.
Surviving besides his widow at 7219 Latham St., Scottsdale in Arizona is his daughter Mrs. Gail Ives and two sons Roderick and Stanley all of Arizona; 5 grandchildren; a sister Mrs. Elton (Emma) Carlson of West Clarksville who flew to Arizona and a brother Arthur Williams of Hinsdale.
Funeral services and burial were on Saturday in Arizona.
