Mildred Agnes McCarley Evans, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 1989, at Pleasant Valley Hospital after an extended illness. Born Jul 13, 1904, she was the only child of the late Rev. Robert Pearley and Arilla Dorcas Straight McCarley. She was a lifelong resident of Gallia County and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Ohio Chapel. Preceding her in death was her husband, Basil Lee Evans, on Apr 20, 1984, whom she married on June 28, 1926. She is survived by one daughter, Zelmalee (Alfred) Vallance; and one son, Billy Gene Evans. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Terry Lee Vallance of Brea, CA, Sandra Kay Dennis, Kathy Jean Edwards, and Barbara Ann Bowling all of Gallipolis; and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral at 2 pm Fri, Dec 1 at Christ United Methodist with Rev. Carl Vallance and Rev. Kenneth Burkman officiating. Burial at Mound Hill Cemetery.
