Dortha “Dottie” Virginia Bosley, age 87 of Old Fields, WV passed away
Tuesday, January 6, 2008 at her residence.

She was born June 7, 1921 in Ridgley, WV and was the daughter of the late
Lewis W. and Susan (Hotchkiss) Owens.

Her husband of 51 years, Scott Bosley, preceded her in death on June 6, 1990
and her companion of 14 years, Dr. Hansel Snider, D.D.S., also preceded her in
death on June 6, 2005. An infant sister, two infant brothers, three sisters and
four brothers also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bosley graduated from Ridgeley High School in May 1939. Her working
career began as a cook for the Old Fields grade school for one school term.
She then worked at the Pentagon for the National Food Corporation in the
payroll and personnel department for twenty-six months as assistant paymaster.

Moving to California due to the illness of her son, she worked for the Janss
Investment Corp. for seventeen years, retired as Personnel, Payroll Supervisor
and moved back to Old Fields.

After her husband’s death in 1990, she worked for the Hardy County Committee
on Aging for about two years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, V.F.W.
Post #9606 and was a Methodist by faith. She was residing in her home with her
granddaughter, Heidi Bosley. Surviving is a son, Gary Scott Bosley and wife
Marian Bosley of Merced, CA; two daughters, Judith Bosley McDaniel and
husband Dennis of Old Fields, WV and Retha Bosley of Saucier, MS; two sisters,
Evelyn Owens Ott of Timberville, VA and Norma Owens Dennis of Pitkin, LA;
a sister-in-law, Lucy Owens of Cumberland, MD; numerous grandchildren and
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Fraley
Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington St., with the Rev. Gary W. McDaniel,
her grandson, officiating. Interment was at the Bethel Cemetery, Old Fields, WV.

Memorials may be directed to the Hardy County Library, 102 N Main St,
Moorefield, WV 26836; Bethel Cemetery Association, c/o Richard Bosley,
