Anna E. James, 99, of Leavittsburg, passed away peacefully at 9:20 AM Monday Jan. 30, 2012 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital of complications from a stroke.

She was born July 17, 1912 in Shalersville, OH the daughter of the late Max and Florida (Villers) Dade.

A Leavittsburg resident for most of her life, she was a 1931 graduate of Leavittsburg High School where she was on the track and basketball teams. Anna was formerly employed as a clerk at the Leavittsburg Post Office and was a member of the First Community Church of Leavittsburg. She and was a Republican poll worker on Election Day for many years in Leavittsburg and taught Sunday school for many years. A loving and devoted homemaker, she enjoyed gardening and quilting. Anna handmade quilts for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her husband of sixty years William James whom she married Nov.18, 1933 preceded her in death Nov. 4, 1993. She also was preceded in death by 3 brothers Elmer Dade who was killed in WW II, Clarence Dade, Paul Dade, and by a sister Myrtle Dowling.

Anna will be sadly missed by her son Charles and wife Judith of Cortland, daughter Sue A. and husband Wayne Leiby of Glenmoore, PA, 6 grandchildren; Don (Diana) James, Debbie (Scott) Shallenberger, David (Carol) James, Douglas (Valarie) James, Janet (Rick) Hoenig, Wanda (Rich) McCue, and 11 great grandchildren; Jon, Jaimee, Jennifer (Nate), Jeremy, Jessica, Matthew, Duncan, Connor, Rick, Heather, and Stephanie. She also leaves a sister Lucinda (Robert) Horton of Southington, a brother Charles (MariLou) Dade of Leavittsburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
