LUSETTA DOWLING

LuSetta Dowling of Craig, died Sept. 8, 2000, at Valley View Manor in Craig. She was 98.

Dowling was born Jan. 5, 1902, in Holdrege, Neb. She was raised and attended school in Nebraska.

In 1923, in Golden, she married Guy Dowling. They lived in Dillon, moved to Waddle Creek around 1925, and then to Hayden where her husband worked for the Carpenter Ranch. After her husband died in 1934, she worked as a cook at the Hayden hospital and a clerk at Hayden Mercantile. She moved to Craig and worked for Golden Rule and Swansons Shoe Store. She lived in Craig for over 20 years.

She is survived by son, Dayton Dowling of Hayden; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Norma Eisengrein and several brothers and sisters.

Services were held Sept. 14, 2000, at Grant Mortuary Chapel officiated by Beryl Wright. Avis Funk was organist and Gretchen Hayes was soloist.

Burial was at the Hayden Cemetery.
