BAXTER — Mary K. Stelzel, age 79, resident of Excelsior Place in Baxter, died Monday, Jan. 30, 2012.
Mary was born Oct. 13, 1932, in Oak Knoll, Minn., to Merton and Kathryn (Miller) Leach. She married Leonard Stelzel Oct. 14, 1950, at St. Mary of the Lake Church in Plymouth, Minn. Mary graduated from St. Margaret's Academy in Minneapolis and worked as an offset printer for 35 years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, St. Agatha's Guild, Our Lady of Fatima rosary makers, St. Francis prayer line and the American Legion Auxiliary as president and past president.
She is survived by twin brother, Jim Leach, of Waconia, Minn.; brother, Joe (Betty) Leach, of Plymouth, Minn.; two special nieces, Susan Rasmussen, of Forest Lake, Minn., and Alice Junes, of Lino Lakes, Minn.; many other nieces and nephews and some wonderful friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard on April 10, 2003; her parents, Kathryn and Merton Leach; sister, Adele Bolduc; brothers, Robert Leach and baby Jimmy Leach.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Visitation will be held the hour before services at the church on Saturday. Burial will be in Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.
